1. Purpose of This Website
This website https://taxes.ponokacounty.com is provided by Ponoka
County to give the public convenient access to property tax assessment
information as permitted under applicable legislation, including the
Municipal Government Act of Alberta. Access to and use of this Site are
subject to the following terms and conditions.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using this Site, you agree to comply with
and be bound by these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws. If you do
not agree, please do not use the Site.
3. Accuracy and Currency of Information
The Municipality makes every effort to ensure the
information on this Site is accurate and up-to-date. However:
- All
data is provided “as is” without any express or implied warranties.
- Information
displayed may not reflect the most current assessment values or property
details.
- The
official record of tax assessments remains the Municipality’s tax roll
and/or official assessment notices.
Users should verify information before relying on it for
legal or financial purposes.
4. Permitted Use
The property tax assessment information provided on this
Site is for personal, non-commercial use only. Users may view, print, or
download information for individual reference. Bulk downloading, scraping,
automated collection, or redistribution of the data for commercial purposes
without prior written consent of the Municipality is strictly prohibited.
5. Privacy and Personal Information
This Site displays only information authorized for public
release under the Protection of Privacy Act, SA 2024, c P-28.5 and the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, c
M-26. In accordance with the Protection of Privacy Act, no personal contact information of
property owners is displayed on the Site. For the purposes of the Protection of Privacy Act, the property
tax assessment information is not considered personal information if it is not displayed
with personal information about the individual owner. Certain technical
information (such as IP address, date and time of access) may be collected by
the Municipality when you use the Site for security and analytics purposes. Collection of this information is necessary for operation
of this program, and is authorized under Section 4 of the Protection of Privacy Act.
Such information will be handled
according to the Municipality’s Privacy Policy, available on Ponoka County website, in adherence with the Protection of Privacy Act.
6. Third-Party Content and Links
This Site may provide links to third-party websites or
mapping services. The Municipality does not control or endorse the content,
security, or privacy practices of external sites and is not responsible for any
damages or losses arising from their use.
7. Security and Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt
to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its servers;
- Interfere
with the operation of the Site;
- Use
the Site in a manner that violates any laws or regulations.
The Municipality may suspend or terminate access to users
who breach these terms.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Municipality, its officers, employees, and agents shall
not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
arising from the use or inability to use this Site or the information it
contains.
9. Copyright and Ownership
Unless otherwise indicated, all content on this Site,
including data, text, graphics, and layout, is owned by the Municipality and
protected by copyright laws.
If the Municipality has adopted an open data policy, the
data may be used in accordance with the [Open Data Licence link], subject to
these Terms and Conditions We note that this Licence does not grant any right
to use:

Personal Information;
b.
Information or Records that are not accessible
under applicable laws, including the Protection
of Privacy Act and the Access to
Information Act;
c.
third party rights the Municipality is not
authorized to license;
d.
the names, crests, logos, or other official
symbols of the Municipality; and
e.
Information subject to other intellectual
property rights, including patents, trade-marks and official marks.
“Personal Information” has the meaning set out in 1(q) of
the Protection of Privacy Act.
“Records” has the meaning set out in 1(u) of the Access to Information Act.
10. Changes to These Terms
The Municipality reserves the right to update or modify
these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page
with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Site constitutes
acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in
accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable
laws of Canada.
